Paul Mc Erlean

Paul Mc Erlean is Managing Director of MCE Public Relations Ltd. He has over fourteen years communications management experience on the public, private and voluntary sectors at all levels focusing in business to business, business to consumer, corporate and crisis PR. Paul served as Chairman of the NI region of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) in 2006 and continues as an active committee member and a member of the Educational and Professional Standards committee for the CIPR centrally in London.

Paul started his media and communications career with Macmillan Media in TV news facilitation, production and research. He helped to lead Macmillan’s fledgling PR business in 1994. He has previously held positions as Director and Joint Managing Director in Drury Communications (Northern Ireland) – now Stakeholder Communications. Paul is a former Director of Communications of the Alliance Party of Northern Ireland working as an advisor to the then party leader, John Alderdice.

On a voluntary basis, Paul is a Council member of the cross-border and cross-community, Irish Association for cultural, economic and social relations; a Non-Executive Director of Tinderbox Theatre company, the Colin Glen Trust and Groundwork Northern Ireland. He is also a Trustee of the Dr J H Whyte Memorial fund for political students, North and South and is a frequent contributor to Irish Times’ Special Reports and a number of other publications and media outlets dealing with business, sport and politics.
